40 minutes wait time!

I am trying to get with an agent because of mobile logon issues. 40 minutes wait time to talk to a human is unacceptable customer service. I have never talked to a customer service over the past 8 years and the one time I need assistance it takes that long. Unacceptable!!!

Screwed me out of $2000

I have been a loyal BB&T customer for over twenty years, but no more. My company was issued 2 charge backs by the same customer 3 months after we repaired her car.

Since the payment was made over the phone BB&T refused to honor our payment. In 25 years of business we have never had one charge back. I can prove that the customer approved the work but BB&T said we needed a signed mechanical imprint of the card. BB&T made us stop doing mechanical imprints 15 years ago and told us they would only take electronic processing.

It's just their way of not honoring their commitments.

So now I am out 2 grand and have no one to help. After all these years I am surprised that they would do this to us.

I again, received OD charges for money spent because they had a glitch in their system that showed me that my money was no longer in pending. I paid my bills and next day I see the money was back in pending status. I called the bank right away to find that they were not going to do anything about it and proceeded to charge me OD charges. I have been fighting with me for two weeks and have agreed to returning !/2 the money but not the entire amount. I am so fed-up with this bank! I told them once again I wanted to speak with the next person in line because why can you refund the first part but not the second part and your bank made the errors not me.

It is getting to be ridiculous with customer service!

I have been with BBT for about 7-8 years. It is rare for me to have to speak to customer service. Online banking is pretty easy to deal with on your own, but one of my security questions answer wasn't working. I knew the answer, but I think there was an issue with the way I typed it in and my account was locked out after one attempt. Normally, I would select to get a text message because when I get the answer wrong to the exact same question, it doesn't ask me any of my other questions (what the point in me having multiple questions if you don't ask all of them). My online account was locked, even on the device I have set up to be my verified device. I called the number they gave me and their protocol for unlocking your security questions was unnecessary and ridiculous. When I called the customer service number I was asked for my social security number, and my identification pin before I actually spoke to someone. Then I was asked my named, my driver's license number, the state on my license, the type of account, the year I opened the account, and the city I opened it in. The first time I called, I didn't know what she meant by type of account and she didn't bother to help me figure it out by giving me all the options she just kept asking me what is the type of account. I told her it was a student account and instead of telling me that wasn't what was she was asking, she just said "let's try something else". She asked me the year I got the account which I didn't remember either (she told me to guess) and she told me to just go into a branch for them to reset it. I asked her what will that do because I don't want to change my password since that wasn't the problem and her response was that she "didn't say they would reset your password". I told her I wasn't saying she was saying that, I was asking what would happen. I called back and the same lady answered and I was able to figure out the type of account (checking and savings) before I called back and I guessed the year correctly (6 years ago), but, even though I have my pin, social security, license number, year I got the account, etc. I was still refered to go into a branch because I didn't remember what city I opened my account in from 6 YEARS AGO.

BB&T worst customer service of any Credit Cards I have. They need to reevaluate there rep’s amd make them realize that they are the on’s being paid to be on that phone call. The Customer is to be treated with respect and not talked over.

Wells fargo is constantly ripping me off with false over draft fees and they give me less trouble , and they have 24 hr phone service and I can dispute a transaction online at home . I am a night owl I WORK IN THE AM so being awake in the PM is a impossible feat getting up during BB&T business hours is next to impossible . So if you get charged two times by a store merchant or a internet merchant rips you off and you work at night you are up *** creek . If you need a quick convenient service to fix the problem . Instead you will have to get up in the day and getting to your job on time be dammed .

Bank fishes for fees

BB&T sets due dates for days on which they will not accept online payments in order to be able to charge 'late' fees for folks who actually paid before the due date. For example - they choose a lot of Sundays as due dates. But online payments made on Saturdays or Sundays are automatically dated as though they were made on the following Monday. So a customer can go online on Saturday, the day before the payment is due, and schedule a payment that day. However this payment made on Saturday will be dated as though it occurred on that next Monday. If payments cannot be submitted on weekend days, why are due dates set on weekend days? To make people who paid before the due date have to pay late fees of course! This is a very shady practice. BB&T should stop being shady.

They also change the due date for their credit cards from month to month so they can get ya with a late fee. So not happy and will be transferring my balance to another bank.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Every single week there seems to be a “technical online error” with their app that customers use for their Accounts. This problem has been occurring every week at least once and stays this way for 2-3 days. As being a customer that is constantly checking their account I can not rely on this bank to keep me informed because you have no access to Your information more than half the time! I will be taking my services elsewhere!!!

Bbandt horrible customer service

On 1-11-2018 I entered Bbandt in two locations in Waldolf Md. horrible 2 locations. The first I was awaiting to send a wire. After depositing a large sum of money into this bank I was asked to wait for manager to send my wire. I must add that Bbandt had paid me several months prior $10,000 for failure to send a wire correctly which almost cost me a $200,000 loss on a purchase overseas. I waited 10 minutes then I asked to use the rest room. The teller said we have no rest rooms. I said,you do but elect not to allow me to use it. I am on medication for this disorder. I then left and went to the next Bbandt in Waldolf Md. there I again asked to have someone do a wire for me. After waiting 10 to 15 minutes I got a manager, Joi was the ladiesfirst name. After an hour she could not send my wire. Then this teller came to the window of the manager, Joi and asked if I was bothering her. I was sitting in a chair and I replied, no, we are just trying to send a wire. The next thing I knew this teller ran into the room and started screaming at me for what seemed to be 5 minutes. Then she stormed out calling me names. The end of this story is that Bbandt elected,through Corporate by a person named Ms. Shortridge, to terminate my accounts after 30 years and being a platium member with over 200,000 just in checking. I had accounts. Bbandt did me a favor as if people check they will find that Capital One is the most progressive bank in the US. No fees,you do not have to look for ATM for fee redraw when with Capital One they list 100s of ATMs like at CVSor Walgreens etc where they partner for no fee. When I go to New York for example. I just hit find me all ATMs. A list comes up with closes one. Believe me it's minutes and you will find one. On line banking witH Capital one is light years ahead of Bbandt which changes their site, if it is not down like today,like every 6 months. So confusing. This is a horrible local little bank if you live in NC or Va. you may get lucky. This is not for people that travel outside these two states and god help you if you want what's called customer service. Good luck with this horrible excuse of a bank.

BBT TOOK MY HOUSE AND MY $80.000 EQUITY *** BB&TII

It was 2010 i was three months behind because i had been in a car accident ask them to work with me i had $80.000 EQUITY in my home i was $1600. Behind and had my house sold for $147.000 to the warner robins air froce base and they wouldn't even work with me on my equity i only owe $63.000 i paid on it for 14 years i was approved for the loan modification and never got it they lead me beleive i was getting my home back for two years then gave me a three-day notice put everything i work so hard for in the yard not only did i lose my home it was raining what didnt get stolen was ruined. I had no where to go with my kids and no money and couldn't afford anyone to help me,not even the state senator Saxby Chambliss with whom i file a complaint with about BB&T.They sold my house to Freddie mac for $73.000 and Freddie mac gave it to government arm lengths what ever that is for $.0 why not give it back to me when i had fourteen years invested i hope they sleep well at night.I was disable and had to retire from my job of twenty year and they wouldnt even give me a few weeks to do the paper work to sell it they took my $80.000 EQUITY and didnt even give me a penny of what they got over it which was about $18.000 can you tell me why Freddie Mac would pay $78.000 for a home to give it away four $.0 i beleive it because they are government funded and the government wanted our proterty. And they save $80.000 doing it.I would never bank with them or recommend anyone to take a mortgage with them they are low down and dirty people they couldnt even be truthful about what they were doing

BBT did not honor a stop payment EVEN CEO, CEF would not fix problem

if any one is successful in a lawsuit with BBT please add me to it. I paid them to stop payment on a check and they did not do that, the check was to my landlord and he bragged how it was good to have friends in high places so the teller honored it anyway. Also when they first took the money I surely called spoke to many people and lo and behold I got a personal call from the actual teller who cashed it. She apologized over and over to me about it and told me the money would be put back stat. I am on low fixed income so them taking the 450.00 out would have been completely and totally devastating and I have 2 kids to raise on what I get only once a month. They did put the money back and I was so relived. I turned around couple days later they had took it again, then they would not ever again let me speak to the teller who had called me. I could tell by the time I called them back the second time, every employee, supervisor, manager, even the chief executive was all on the same page. I even sent in a very long letter and print offs of it all to the CEO and they too told me they did nothing wrong or illegal. Now the bastards are trying to put a judgement on my credit file of over 700.00 which is the check and fees etc. they claim they had paid some other stuff too for me. I have worked for years to clean up my credit file and finally got every bad mark off but one and its coming off next year. Only to have this bank add that one will put me and all my hard work on my credit right back at square one. Anyone who knows how hard it is to get your credit straight will relate to just how damn mad I am right now. However I can not afford a lawyer much less one of the caliber needed to go up against such a mega super size bank such as BBT. I will surely lose because I am a nobody and I think BBT knows that. BB&T - on-line banking problems lead to Cancelled Account

I have been using on-line banking for over 10 years without a problem. I had a non-BB&T Visa credit card compromised, and was sent a new one (with a new number). When I entered the new number into the BB&T on-line system, it indicated that the payment would be made using a paper check and it would take 7 days. Instead, the money was taken out of my account electronically within 3 days, overdrawing my account and triggering overdraft fees. Since I had other payments scheduled, each one was hit with an overdraft fee, all told $216. They excused the first one ($36), and told me that they are only allowed one courtesy fee refund every 24 months. I have run hundreds of thousands of $$$ through this account over the past 10+ years, and the first time I have a problem, this is their response. I am now in the process of closing my account (of course, you have to open another one elsewhere first, and so it will take several weeks to wean myself away from BB&T), and will take my business to a bank that will hopefully recognize loyalty and the value of a customer who heretofore had zero problems and would have stayed with them indefinitely. It appears that $180 in fees is more important than the value of my business to BB&T.

EXCESSIVE OVERDRAFT FEES

Jonathan Reed :I agree this bank is making money off us big time. My account is new I signed up online and when the opt in page came up I did not fully understand what to do.

The wording dose not explain what they are doing when you opt in and use your card so every purchase is paid and before you know it you are in the negative when you think you have money because you have been making deposits to cover your balance which is what I did but i always have overdraft fees anyway I check my account and went up to talk to someone as to what was happening and they said too bad because you signed the form yes i did but the form dose not give a clear explanation of this so called service. I want my card to decline a purchase if I don't have money and i can keep my account balanced just like i'm doing now. my previous bank would not charge me if I had a negative and I made the deposit the same day. So I was not use to this, my account was opened in July and today I received a card saying they are concerned about multiple fee notice.

This bank has charged me $786.00 in overdraft fees and my account was never negative. That's expensive and I want my money back..

Terrible bank! Same thing happened to me! They position your transactions in a way to MAKE them bounce and wrk it out in a way to charge you the most NSF fees when you were never overdrawn in the first place!
